My name is Zane, and I play guitar in a band called CARNEY.  We’re based in LA but as of January 2010 we will be based out of NYC.  Type us into google and see what pops up ;-) 

Outside of playing with my band I am a freelance guitarist and have had the privilege of traveling around most of the world with Jesse McCartney, Renee Olstead, and Armand Sabal-Lecco, among others lovely and talented ladies and gents.  I also was a member of the Joe Firstman House Band on the Carson Daly Show before traveling with my band started taking precedence.  I am so grateful to have fulfilled one of my dreams in playing on a late night show (I know, kindof a funny dream but all you musicians out there probably feel me...) but am also so excited to play in the best band in the world - seriously, over 3 people have agreed to it!

I also teach lessons professionally when I’m in town.  I’m not the best beginning guitar teacher on the planet by any stretch of the imagination, but I do love working intermediate/advanced students.  Digging deeper into approach, theory, and harmony is a search that I love encouraging so I try to offer as many musical options as I can and hopefully in the process I help people to discover that passion for themselves.

Also and outside of CARNEY I do a bit of recording work which I love, love, love :-)  I tend to be out of town for months at a time with my band but whenever I’m home I love making music on other people’s albums.  I realize that I am very lucky to have people that call me to have me do this :-)

Anywho, like most people my age I have lots and lots of digital outlets so I’d like to consider this website my hub.  Links are up top on the upper bar to my twitter (which you should follow by the by), myspace, CARNEY Facebook Group and Fan Page, and any other things that made sense to me.  I figure since this is the first site that comes up when you type my name into google, I better make good use of it!
